Padel Level Guide

To ensure the best learning experience and balanced groups, please review this guide and select the level that best describes your game in the registration form.

Level 0-1: Absolute Beginner / Introduction

  • Characteristics: You have no prior padel experience, or you've played very few times recreationally. You are learning the basic strokes and the game's dynamics. You still find it difficult to maintain a continuous rally.
  • Objective: Acquire the fundamentals, learn to direct the ball, and control basic power.

Level 2: Beginner

  • Characteristics: You've taken some lessons and know the basic strokes (forehand, backhand, volley). You can maintain short, controlled rallies, but consistency is limited. Wall shots are still a challenge.
  • Objective: Consolidate the technique of fundamental strokes, improve consistency, and start using the walls.

Level 3: Amateur

  • Characteristics: You play regularly and can maintain longer rallies with reasonable consistency. You're starting to execute back wall shots and volleys. You're beginning to understand court positioning and attempting some bandejas or víboras, though without much control.
  • Objective: Improve the technique of specific shots (bandeja, víbora), gain consistency at the net and from the baseline, and understand the importance of positioning.

Level 4: Intermediate

  • Characteristics: You play matches frequently and master most basic and wall strokes. You can maintain a consistent game pace and already use the bandeja and víbora with some effectiveness, though precision and control in direction and depth are still lacking. You're starting to think tactically, but struggle to execute consistently under pressure.
  • Objective: Perfect the technique of offensive strokes, improve net management, and begin to develop more complex game strategies and decision-making.

Level 5:  Advanced

  • Characteristics: You play at a regular competitive level. You have good control and power on most shots, including bandejas, víboras, and wall exits. You understand basic tactics and can apply them, varying pace and direction. You are capable of reading the game and know when to approach or retreat from the net, but you seek to refine precision, decision-making under pressure, and consistency in high-intensity situations.
  • Objective: Refine precision, improve advanced tactics (creating spaces, reading opponents, point management), consolidate finishing shots, and polish consistency under pressure.

Level 6: Expert

  • Characteristics: You master all strokes with power, control, and precision. You are capable of improvising and adapting to different game situations and opponents. Your tactical understanding is very high; you anticipate plays and rarely make unforced errors. You play at a competitive or federated level with results. You're looking for small adjustments and elite strategies to optimize every point and overcome very demanding opponents.
  • Objective: Optimize performance in critical situations, perfect mental game and match management, and add high-level technical/tactical variations and resources.
